The Pili R&D Center focuses on providing S & T based intervention to the industry by developing enhanced production technologies expected to increase the yield and overall production of pili nuts thereby meeting the required supply of raw and processed pili nut products and by-products. A center that assesses flora and faunal diversity, habitat types and composition of Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) of Cebu through the Biodiversity Monitoring Systems (BMS) and studies the interconnections and links between the components leading to protection and conservation of endangered endemic floral and faunal species (e.g. keystone species).

Center for Freshwater Fisheries | NICER

The program involves R&D for the management of the indigenous fisheries resources of the Cagayan Valley Region with emphasis on the high valued species, lobed river mullet or Ludong and freshwater eelswhich are present in the Cagayan River system. This will focus on developing artificial breeding and culture techniques for these species with information on their natural habitats to determine options for their management.
